Hey cool! I finally got 215/75-15s about a month and a half ago. And they're BFG's.
I only had mild rubbing issues. They've been awesome. Really cool all around good tire for an OB. Fun to rally, good road grip, good traction, and they're tough. I got to try them out in snow last week too. They were great. I love that road up Mt. Defiance. It's not so easy with a 5 speed though. You have to do some clutch slipping sometimes to keep your speed down enough to pick your lines well. I don't think I've done it since I lifted my OB. Might be easier now. |

So.... what's the skinny on these... acceptable solution? When and where does the rubbing occur on a non-lifted OBW?

I am thinking of replacing the 205R70-16 Contis that came with my 2.5 base model with 215R60-17 BFG All Terrain T/A KO's (I will need new rims. This is the same size 2.5 Premiums come with). The BFG All Terrain T/A KO's work well year-round in Alaska. (I have used them on other 4x4's) Great on snow; OK on ice; good in mud; good on dry and wet pavement; not too noisy and they last forever.
Any thoughts on this? Can a taller, wider size fit in the fender of a 2011 OB? |

I'm considering 245/65/17s BFG ATs on my 2011 Outback. It'll be very close to hitting on the front edge of the rear wheel arch (that's the most constricted point by my observations), but I think they will work. Discount tire will do a test fit for me with no obligation. They are only a cm wider each side of center, so I don't think I will rub on the strut, etc. Wish me luck!
