So I'm looking for new tires for my 2009 Outback 2.5i SE, and noticed that the tire choices for 225/55R17 are relatively few and rather expensive. 215/60R17 tires are less than half an inch taller, have a greater selection, and are less expensive. They are also well within the recommended tire size for 17x7 wheels.
I'm going to need new tires before this winter, and I think they will be Hankook Optimo H727s - excellent reviews from tirerack.com, consumer reports, etc, and a 100,000 mile treadlife warranty (not that I expect that out of them). They're looking to run about $460 + about $70 for installation at my local Precision Tune. |
