Bend, Oregon.
Longtime lover of my '97 Legacy GT sedan. Bought an '08 at the start of this year after getting in trouble on fire road 260 heading up to Three Fingered Jack, hoping for a little more clearance over those ditches and logs :-). Accessing Broken Top will be waaay easier now... Every other car here is a Subie. See? Mine's the creamy black center :

Finally we decide to get an OB
Research about them for a while, did test drives on 06 thru 11 models with various trims. In the end, concluded that really did not like the 10 and 11 models. I have to admit they have a few nicer improvements, but we wanted a OB for off-road driving, not an SUV, and we are below the average american belt size - so we can afford to be more snug inside. Ended with 2008 2.5 Lmtd, with a little more mileage than I wanted, but, the sunroof and all-weather package was a plus, vs a low mileage basic model we had in mind too. We hope to reach and drive thru some not-so-well-maintained forest roads, which my 2003 nissan altima can't handle. The plus, is having a "bed" in the back, for those alpine climbing starts, and when tent camping or driving further is not an option. |

Already posted in the new member section but thought I'd leave my mark here too.
Arlington, Wa. Work in Seattle. I snowboard a huge amount, camp and where I live most anyone lives down a rugged driveway or in the woods somewhere so Subaru seemed like the way to go. Plus I've loved the looks of them forever. Just got the car a couple days ago and already in love with it. Just sold my 97 eclipse which couldn't go over pot holes or up a driveway with any kind of incline, Also limping that thing to and from the mountain was stressful to say the least.(FWD n/t) I'm excited for AWD and the fact that I can fold the seats down and camp in the back! ![]() ![]()

I am new this this forum and also new to Subaru. I traded my new 2010 Tacoma that I bought last year for a used 2008 Subaru Outback 2.5i LL Bean edition with 59150 miles. Let me tell you at 1st I was missing my truck and after 2 days I totally forgot about it until my 6 year old told me Papa do you miss your Truck and I told her no and I do not miss the gas mileage. After I updated the Navigation system to version 6.1 I was loving it even more.
