3rd Gen Light Bar

Are these things like unicorns and Bigfoot? I cannot seem to find one and am leaning towards having a local offroad guy fab one for me.

If anyone knows of one or has an idea for one, I will support the mockup and initial batch if enough folks step up. The guy is very good...and a good dude in general.

If you can come up with a design that looks good, won't take out the condenser and radiator in a minor fender bender, doesn't compromise ground clearance, and sells for US$200 or less, then you will become wealthy.

I am not holding my breath about this product. A low profile LED light bar or a couple of six inch HID spots mounted on the front of a roof basket like the excellent Baja Rack would be ideal IMHO.

Agreed. I have one on my '04 and I've done some damage to it off road. It compromises clearance a bit too much on the front end. I'm looking for a 3rd Gen H6 now and won't bother with another light bar. As much as I'll miss my PIAA driving lights, I'll end up doing without them.

OP didn't mention anything about being suitable for offroad use...

I looked on Primitive's website, and although they didn't show one, I'm sure they make one that fits. The stouter of their designs mounts through the front bumper to the bumper beam mounting points.

It's not a push bar like cop cars have, but when I asked what they had, I told them I wanted to be able to annihilate a shopping cart (as a measurement, it works) and that's what they came up with...

Assuming a 3rd gen mounts the same, it would not affect approach angles and front clearance in any meaningful way, it's stout enough to stand on, and won't wobble when you drive on a rough surface with your lights on (that was what I really wanted.)

Negatives: They probably aren't cheap, and you will have to put holes in your front bumper to mount it. Not sure if they already make a 3rd gen (send them an e-mail.)

Positives: It's not built cheap. Sturdy as ****. They include a hole saw and tool to get the holes right in the bumper. (At least they did with mine.)
