Since , my old factory bumper was getting beat up from trips .It was time to custom cut it up for more approach clearance angle.
I used a air saw(hacksaw blade)& cut away.... ![]() Note I wanted to keep debris out and had to tuck up the fender liners (ziptie sewing). Next I painted the bumper with duplicor bumper paint (black)Dupli-Color :: Flexible Bumper Coating I turned out great...here's some pics.. ![]() ![]() ![]()
Looks mean. I like it. Now you just have to worry about your front plate getting ripped off.[/quote
I didn't see the snow picture. It looked like the front plate was lower than the bumper. I wish we got snow this early in the year. When I was in seattle back in july it was crazy seeing the top of mt.rainer have snow. Made me green with envy.

I first saw those pics and I was horrified. After 30 seconds I was trying to figure out where I could borrow a Makita saw.
Any plans for the rear end? On my recent off road experience the only thing that was hitting the ground was my trailer hitch (I don't use it and I was okay with it "taking one for the team")

Scooby, I do agree about the rear though. It has to go too now And here's what I would like my bumper to look like (dreaming, since my wife would kill me if I did that to her car ) |

That bumper looks great! Not a big fan of the big cut in front of the tires though. It might look better if it were curved.
That black paint looks awesome with the dark blue outback. Considered bedliner for that? I guess the bumper coating is almost the same. Was it spendy? That dark blue would look great with the whole bottom half of the car black. I plan on doing that to mine. I've got the bumpers bedlinered and soon I'll do the rest of the gold on the doors and fenders. I see you guys are enjoying the recent snow. It's been great to play in the snow again. I did some of Gunsight Ridge a couple weeks ago. That place is crazy/scary/fun as heck in the snow. |
