Well, after smacking a rock good a few days ago and totally destroying my plastic engine cover, I decided a set of Primitive Skid plates was 315 dollars of cheap in insurance. So I put my order in today.
Takes them about a week to make up the front skid plate, so hopefully I will have it in about two weeks. I will take some pictures of the install and post them here when I get the skid plate in. Also picked up some PBR Metal Masters at the same time, so I will have to see how those work out.

Another EDIT: I meant front skidplate. The rear plates already exist. I'm getting both (when available) and having them shipped down here.
EDIT: Just, coincidentally, received an email from Paul saying he "will try to make progress next week" on a skidplate for 05/06 XTs, and that Primitive did create a skidplate for an 06 non-XT. So here's hoping next week treats Primitive well enought to have something to send my way! |

Yeah, paul said it would take them about 9 days to make up the skid plate for my car, and it sounds like he keeps busy with the driving schools. I am sure the more people who e-mail him and tell him they are looking for a plate for the XT, the quicker he will get one made. He also will do custom plates, so if you want one really bad. . .
Anyway, for anyone interested, primitives website is at: http://www.get-primitive.com

I don't know if Paul would do a group buy or not. I know that he makes them to order, so he might do a group deal, that way he could just make several at one time. Best bet is to drop him an e-mail, ask him if you could get a group discount, and how many it would take.

I have noticed that IPD has a front skid plate for '05 and later Outback turbo models.
http://www.ipdusa.com/productscat.as...62&RootID=1414 Has anyone tried their skid plate yet? |

Interesting, looks like a pretty good deal, especially since people have been having a hard time finding the skid plates for the 05 and up. I did notice that the skid plates they were offering were "Turbo only"
Also not a bad price for the other skid plates, they are only 1/8", but primitive 1/8" plates are $215, whereas IPDs are $180.
