Taking a 97 outback but I wonder about how many times would I need to fill up? it's about 648 miles where I'm going one way.. I was guessing around maybe 3 1/2 times?
I'm not sure how much you can get from the tank with the 2.5 motor |

Depending on where you set your cruise control you should be getting 26-28 MPG. Could make just shy of 400 miles per tank in the old 1996 with cruise set at 60-65.

gas is $4.29 in Michigan right now. It was noticeably cheaper in Ohio, try to top it off there before you get to the Mitten. What are you doing in Michigan?
