Awesome trip!
Tail of the dragon for sure. In Texas hit Fort Davis for the observatory, Marfa to terlinga to Big Bend National Park. Stay at least a night at the Basin and see Santa Elena Canyon. Heading out take 90 to Del Rio over and around Amistad Reservoir to San Antonio. See the Alamo and the river walk. From SA not much to see but if you head to Freeport just south east of Houston you can drive on the beach almost all the way to Louisiana.

Default Driving sights in the Northeas U.S. & Canada

In the northeast, take I87, the Northway from Albany to Montreal. When you get to Canada make a right and drive to the Bay of Fundy

Depending on your time available! Also, if in eastern areas like NYC or Boston, drive north on i-95 and thru Maine to New Brunswick, Canada and on to Bay of Fundy. Always multiple routes to get to places. Maine coast and Bay of Fundy are spectacular.

Already done all the states and provinces. Though it was in a 83 Chevy van and not a Subaru =(. If you are in New England area take the off HW roads to see some great country and I think in Vermont there is a floating bridge which is fun to drive across.
