I forgot to come back and say, I saw no reason to pull the assemblies and got both side swapped in not much more time than filling the tank at a gas station would take.

I was able to do the left low beam on my 2001 without having to remove the assembly. Yay!
IIRC on a Trailblazer you have to take the grille out, then the headlight, to get to the bulb.
