Metal scraping sound in wheel well

Alright so after a 100 mile drive today in my 2012 Outback I noticed a sound coming from the front passenger-side wheel well. When the sound started I was going ~20mph, not turning, steady on the gas, and nothing else of note. No speedbumps and not applying brakes. 13k on the car and no accidents.

Had my wife get back in the car and as soon as it was in drive and she release the brake the sound started back up. It's a metal on metal grinding/scratching noise coming from what seems to be the brakes.

Any ideas or suggestions? I know I'm still under warranty but the service departments are closed for the holiday weekend and I'm in Houston for the weekend and flying back to Fort Carson on Monday. Have to drive the 100 miles back to Houston tomorrow with a 3 month old in the backseat and want to make sure its safe. This is the wife's daily driver and I don't want to leave her hanging.

CEL code P1520 help....

I have an engine code P1520 which states:
radiator fan relay 1 circuit high output

Any advice on how to repair this? I cannot find a reference for the location of the relay, as this is where I plan to begin by replacing the relay.

Has anyone had this code show up? Any suggestions will help

Project Outback AKA the Mystery Car

Hi all! I've had a lot of questions about my mystery ride, and was told to make a thread for it, so here it goes! This is my beast, aka a 2004 Outback. Inside it, it has a Hornet (one of those keyless start up things) from the previous owner, and I had a new sound system installed in it. I don't have all the before pictures sadly, but these will do.

Passenger side. It's the nice side of the car, most it has are a couple itty bitty dents from the previous owner from driving around. Like pebble size. I can get them out with dry ice.

Driver side front corner where I'm sanding. I wish I had a before shot of this, but I don't. It kinda looked like black shredded cheese. This damage was from September of 2012, I turned too soon in my old chiropractors office and shredded it against some cement cinder blocky thingies. I'd had the car for about 3 months at this point?

Driver side rear door. I got stuck in a spot in a parking garage at school cuz a stupid smart car driver parked their car in a weird way. I kept scraping against a pillar and getting stuck :/ Parking enforcement helped me get out, and I noticed as I looped around a Prius had parked the same awkward way I did. This was in February or March of this year. Second incident actually took the door molding off. I just kinda got it back on. The trim actually hangs off too, but it's stuck in decently at the moment.

This is from April of this year. This alongside ripping the molding off the door.... I had another incident in the same parking structure......... Turned a little late and got stuck against a square pillar. It was embarrassing.

This dent is from May. It used to be worse and look like it got hit by a soccer ball. I got it to shrink to this size with dry ice. I had a Derp moment in one of the other parking garages at school and smashed into another pillar.....

This is really the only interior damage....the wax from Babybell cheese melted onto the seat on a hot day. :/

Back of the car. Sticker on window is actual sticker, sticker on inside is a window cling parking pass, I <3 Gay Porn is a sticker, other two are magnets.

As you can see, I really have my work cut out for me.

Are EGR Valves ever on passenger side heads?

I have a 2003 Subaru Legacy with a 2.5. I'm doing some pricing as my car is in the shop and was just told by a parts guy that they could be on either side after I was told earlier that only the driver's side had them on EGR models.

(2.5 off-timing question) possible bad tensioner

The mechanic was a little vague about it, but said it was a little loose. What had me calling them was my crank pulley separating and chewing into the timing cover, which I had feared may have made it jump time somehow, but he seems to think that that was a separate issue, although it certainly didn't help. My timing belt was replaced 60,000 miles ago, with a new tensioner thrown in too. He said that my timing was off 1 tooth on the drivers side and 2 or 3 on the passenger side cams. Being that I probably won't hear from him until Tuesday, what are the chances that being off 1 tooth or 2-3 teeth doing major damage? Thanks for your wisdom and expertise!~

on my vehicle i checked the tread depth. #1 is 7/32 #2 4/32 # 3 and 4 are 5/32

So how would once place the tires on the car to not mess up the driveline?

How long do these belts last? I have 95k UK miles on my 06 Outback and am thinking it may be due for a new belt The original does look fine though and I don't want to waste time & money if they are known to last longer.

Navigation system

I have just purchased a 3013 Subaru Outback and the Dealer installed a Pioneer radio/navigation system with backup camera but I do not like the navigation system. It will not let a passenger make any adjustments while the car is moving. I want to replace it and would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

My '05 Outback (2.5 non-turbo) threw a CEL last night. Cruise light also came on and flashes. Car runs normally. Any ideas?:confused:

Early oil change? or Not?

Hello everyone in Subbie Land!

I bought a 2.5 OB in February of this year while I was home on leave (I'm in the military) in Texas. I then drove it for about 1700 miles during the course of the month. It then sat for about 2 months, only driven a few miles a week, till my father shipped it to me in Germany. It took about a month to arrive here. Now I probably have the newest US spec OB in Europe! atleast for a little while :)

So my question is... With all of the sitting around that this fairly new engine has seen, should I go ahead and change the oil and filter or let it ride till the 7500 mile mark like the owners manual states?

My concern is just with the age of the oil and providing the most protection to the engine. I just ordered a 12 pack of filters and the Fumoto valve. The oil I will have to source locally.

How to find if engine has been replaced?

Yesterday I bought a 2004 Outback at the local dealer. One owner, local car.

The main selling point that caused me to purchase was the salesman telling me that their mechanic had replaced the engine at 5x,000 miles because of some problem, which was a Subaru authorized replacement. The car currently has 94,000 miles, making the new engine only having 40,000 miles.

Looking at a "carfax" there is mention of oil changes, various fluid changes etc. each year, but no mention of an engine replacement.

Can I take the current engine number and find if it is a replacement or not?

For sale. They are Copper CS4's with 20k miles on them. Plenty of tread left. Only asking $250. If you would like I can mount and balance them on my stock 05 2.5xt wheels for a package deal of $800. I went with wider tires and my brake swap i won't be able use the stock wheels. One or two have some curb rash from before i bought the car. perfect upgrade for a 2.5i outback.
