i see at the bottom of this page there is an ad for EEFUEL fuel additive.
for anyone considering this product it looks [and may be] the exact same stuff being marketed as ETHOS. my neighbor is "selling" this stuff and asked me if i wanted to try it. of course i researched the stuff and found out that it essentially useless.
basically these things are mlm schemes [multi level marketing]. just google "mlm scams" and you'll get a whole bunch of sites that expose this for what it is.
they use peoples frustration at gas prices and ignorance of how motors actually work and how fuel is burned. they claim that fuel "clumps" and 20% is wasted because of this. they don't tell you where that 20% goes, i guess you're supposed to assume something but i' not sure what.
this stuff seems to all be based on an additive that's been around a long time. the initial use for it was to clean diesel injectors and systems to reduce emissions. the company that developed it didn't bother maintaining the patent and some other people got ahold of it and decided to sell it as a "fuel saver"
state attorneys have been going after these schemes for awhile now but their claims are so vague that it's sometimes hard to nail them. saying "up to 23% fuel savings" then qualifying it with " actual mileage may vary due to ..... everything" isn't really making a claim at all.
as far as ethos is concerned even though they say it's been around a long time and have all these "satisfied customers" .... there is nothing on their site about an actual scientific test ever being done. there's a guy that checks all this stuff and he tried to contact all these large companies that they quote on their site, i'll go find it and post a link. the whole thing starts getting comical after you read it.
the site says they have a money back guarantee but when you read the fine print it actually says they will refund any product bought directly from them. the funny part is that they don't sell directly to the public, they sell through resellers only so their guarantee is worthless.
this stuff may clean your injectors but it's probably not any better than all the stuff at the parts store and costs 10x as much.
not real thrilled with my neighbors attitude toward this stuff or his ability to rationalize ripping people off [he doesn't actually sell it, he recruits others to sell it and gets a percentage] but what are you gonna do. let others know it's worthless is my choice.
just thought you guys should know.
ps here's that link, one of many sites keeping people honest.

.
p.p.s - i just checked EEFUEL site and their claim of scientific testing is basically a diesel locomotive by some company that i havn't had a chance to google yet. so it seems that this being the same stuff is even more likely.

| hm.....maybe it is just the edge needed. Put in a turbonator, those fuel line magnet thingys, that water electrolysizer, one of those stickers that goes on the gas tank, and the thing might just last a lifetime on one tank of fuel!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

there's another ad at the bottom for " an alternative to MLM " it's called GPT.
guess when people start figuring out it's a scam, they just change the acronym. " a brand new system for you scumbags to screw people for fun and profit" |
