Free* TV in your Outback - Click HERE for Original Thread

*well, kind of, read on --

Its free as long as you have the required equipment.

You can stream your music collection and video collection from your home, with a broadband-connected computer, to another location, basically anywhere you have another internet connection and a compatible media player. You can stream to a hotel on your laptop or on the go with a handheld on a data plan or on a laptop with an aircard or...you get the picture. You also don't have to worry about port forwarding if you are using a router.

Better yet, if you have a TV tuner card, you can stream your cable TV in the same way! I've used it on my Blackberry but since it is not a 3g blackberry, the connection is sometimes too slow. However, when it has a good signal, it looks pretty good!

The program that does it is free (really, not even stupid reminder licensing or 'register now' crap). It is called ORB and you can get it at www.orb.com and you can learn more there.

I thought this was so neat, I really wanted to share it. Please, though, I have no idea which handhelds this works on, but that information is easy to get. If you have a blackberry curve you need OS 4.5.

I know that this is kind of old, but its a way to avoid buying a slingbox if you already have the hardware.
