Unhappy Not so great experience

You all know how much I like my cars.

That's me custom faux painting on top of the factory Subaru paint so they would better match Cherry's skin. BTW the above tires are one of the sets I bought from DT. I have 2 sets of tires and also had one set of rims I bought from DT. I have sung the praises of my experiences when they were good.

I was visiting @Jimi1976, when I got out of the car, we both noticed the rear passenger tire low. My Cooper Weathermaster M+S (studded) had picked up both a drywall screw and an electrical wire staple. Jimi said there was a DT less than 1/2 mile. My 1st intention was to change the flat and TAKE the flat to DT. Jimi suggested just filling it and driving there. OK, sure.

When I picked up the car. I was told. "We gave you a complimentary air check and we have them at 38psi all the way around."

Ooooh-Kaaay??? (Ok, I can let some air out no big deal.

"We also gave you a complimentary balance check." Hmmm. We Cherry's shoes we just fine the last time I drove her, outside of the spikes in the passenger rear. I asked if they found anything out? We there was no checklist or record of the balance so the guy had to go check with the tech.

"No"

I leave, key in hand and at no charge, since all of my tires have certificates. I walk out to my car and from 10 feet away I see this.

Thanks a bunch boys. Thanks. I should have just taken the wheel. That way ONLY the wheel could suffer the potential damage. Not the whole car being at risk.

Sorry Cherry, I promise I will take better care of you in the future.

Yep.

I brought the built-bugeye-guy out.

I said "I appreciate them checking my air and setting them to 38psi. I can let some air out. I appreciate the courtesy balance even though I never asked for it. But I don't appreciate the damage to my custom caliper paint."He was very apologetic. He offered me "refund" for some touch up paint.

I declined, I have some.

I just said "That's Ok, just make sure you talk to your team. This could have been an Audi or AMG and that customer might not be as understanding as I am."

There are times you do need to take the low road...

This is NOT one of those times. It's still the high road. Hopefully they will pay more attention next time. Next time, I am just taking the wheel.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience at one of the Discount tire stores traildogck. We take our customer service very seriously but is sounds like we missed the mark in this case. If there is anything we can do on our end please let us know.
