Front strut question

I just replaced the front struts on my 1999 outback and once I was done the front is lower then it was befor I replaced them.
I have put in the kyb excel g as a replacement but I some how think they gave the wrong part number. After looking up the part number it say it for a Brighton and the outback has a different part number. Could this make the front sit lower like it is? If so why would this be?

Brighton is a base legacy, so no raised suspension at all
Subaru Legacy Archives 1998-1999 models: specs, options, colors and more

not a raised legacy outback

Everything Subaru Outback Archives 1998-1999: options, prices, history.

and don't get anything for a little impreza outback sport either.

? Want people to stop needing to ask what exact car you have? year -model -engine -trans, scroll down to "your car":

So would have the Brighton struts on the front off my car make it sit lower?
