Using Boomerang lights as DRLs

This topic has been discussed under several other threads, but I wanted to create a dedicated thread in hopes of generating more attention and hopefully developing a mod we can use.

I been interested in using the "c" or "boomerang" lights as the DRLs. Has anyone found a way to accomplish this mod?

Member Gero704 found this mod from SubiSpeed for the WRX. Thanks Gero704.

SubiSpeed DRL Harness for Boomerang (C-Light) - 2015 WRX Limited / 2015 STI - C-Light / Boomerang - Lighting - 2015+ Subaru WRX

It does exactly what I was hoping could be done to the 2015 OBs. And it's easily reversible back to factory stock. Also has a good install video.

I sent an email asking SubiSpeed if this would work for our OBs. They responded that they weren't sure since they didn't have an OB in house to examine.

Anyone out there have an OB wiring diagram and shop manual that could confirm if this mod will work for the OB?

Anyone live close to SubiSpeed in Des Moines that would be willing to visit them and see if they'd check their mod for applicability on the OB?

One thing you can do is disable your high beam as your DRL. You can then run your LED "hook" lights only as your DRL light. It's not as bright as other cars with LED DRL lights, but I feel it's bright enough.

There is a connector by the drivers side headlamp that you have to disconnect. It's a bit difficult to squeeze your hands down to disconnect it, but worth it. Here you go:

Maybe if enough of us contact them they'll be encouraged to expand their products to cover our OBs.
