Service bulletin: rattle from steering 04-17-17R

It took some convincing at my dealership that I had a rattle from the front suspension and after two visits with second lasting a week and a half, a repair was performed. My 3.6 feels and sounds much better now.

According to the service manager, this is a relatively new bulletin.

Just started hearing something that seems similar to this issue. Thanks for the info.

You will feel it more than anything.

I think this issue also affects the older cars. I don't think owners of the oler cars pushed dealers hard enough back then. All you new owners are a lot more assertive.

Almost felt and sounded like a bushing was missing. Most noticable on brick pavers (like the service drive) or slightly bumpy pavement.

You will feel it when the front wheel hits imperfections ... while turning. Think of hitting a manhole, or trolley track mid corner. And it will rattle both noise and feel.

Mine was present in straight line. Didn't notice in turning.

Question: I feel like I have this going on. When I go slow over large bumps, that makes the front suspension drop freely, it seems like something is loose. It’s a rattle I can feel in the car and somewhat in the steering wheel. I was thinking strut mount... but maybe it’s this.
