Lease Turn-In: Weather Tech / Trailer Hitch

I'm turning in my '17 Outback in the next month or so (Tesla Model 3 delivered tomorrow).

I installed an after-market trailer hitch and have Weather Tech floor mats.

I'd rather not just "give" these to the leasing company, but esp wrt the trailer hitch, don't know if it's worth removing to re-sell.

Is anybody interested in these items? The last Subaru I got rid of (125k mi), I gave the floor mats to a neighbor.

Trailer hitches are cheap so unless you already know someone who wants a free, used hitch I’d just leave it. The bank shouldn’t ding you for it if you leave it on there.
Same thing happened with me with Weathertech stuff from a previous car. I can’t find anyone to buy it off me.

Interested in trailer hitch, but would have to work out getting it as it's likely not worth shipping

Have you checked with the leasing company? You may actually incur a penalty if you leave the after market hitch on the car.

I’ll send you some postage if you can ship the mats.

Nope, but have a pre-turnin inspection coming up shortly, so I'll find out. Easy enough to remove if necessary. To me, it's value added, but as you say, it's not what they gave me, so who knows.

I do not have enough post to send you a PM about the mats. By coincidence, my car arrives tomorrow also. 'Got to give it to Musk, he hired a cracking colorist to chose his palette.

Can't help with your issue, but congrats on the Model 3. I've seen a few and I like them better than the S.

You'll love your TM3. I've had mine since last July.

Just can't get over how joyful it is to drive that thing. But it doesn't haul things like the OB. Still have my OB.

Btw, there is no spare tire on the TM3 and needs special lift pads to fit into a cylindrical hole to jack the car so be sure to get some info on that (just google TM3 jack pads and you'll get lot of hits).

As for the spare, we bought a space saver spare kit from Modern Spare. It comes with a jack, space saver, carrying bag and a set of rubber gloves. Since my wife wanted the spare in the car, I had to add velcro at noon, 3, 6 and 9 positions to keep it from sliding around in the boot. No it will not fit in the Frunk.

I know there's a lot of discussion going on with Gen 6 2020 OB, but after driving TM3, its only EV from here on out for us. We'll replace the OB with probably either the I-Pace, e-Tron or the VW ID suv that they're coming out with. Not a tree hugger or green advocate. Just love the driving dynamics of low c.g., EV handling vehicles (and price of gas in SoCal is now $4.25/gal, but I can charge my EV overnight at 9 cents/kWh)

Enjoy the ride.
Cheers!

Jimmy
Needs to hire some folks to work on a cold climate version !!!
I’d LOVE a Tesla, but the 45-50% mileage loss in the cold kills it for me.
I live 200 miles away from work. They won’t make it in winter.
