Considering buying another OUtback

Hey guys

Had a 2011 Outback not so far ago. I've sell it because there was some rust coming over and few thing to change like the timing belt

I've saw a superb 2016 Outback 3.6 with 27 000 miles, limited, all leather , 25 000 cdn or 18 600$ usd if you prefer

1- Does it have any common problems (i saw some electrical problem like the car wont start sometimes???)
1.1 Engine
1.2 Transmission
1.3 Suspension

2- Where on the body should I look for some rust problems or need a particular attention?

3- Can i put my Apple Maps on the screen inside instead of the navigation inside?
3.1 If not, can we update easily the maps inside the car?

4- Can I put music by the bluetooth device?

5- Is the bluetooth is better than my old 2011 wich was F*** Crap

THanks for making my choice much easier

Hi Joe, See my comments below. I have the same car you describe with almost the same miles.
I live in Boston MA USA

I've saw a superb 2016 Outback 3.6 with 27 000 miles, limited, all leather , 25 000 cdn or 18 600$ usd if you prefer

1- Does it have any common problems (i saw some electrical problem like the car wont start sometimes???)

Some people have reported that the car won't start after sitting for a few days. I haven't had that problem, people have bought a new battery with more starting power. Or I've heard there is a software upgrade which causes the alternator to charge the battery faster.
1.1 Engine

No issues, I love the 3.6. Smooth and has all the power I need

1.2 Transmission

No issues, I like the CVT

1.3 Suspension

No complaints or problems

2- Where on the body should I look for some rust problems or need a particular attention?

I haven't had any rust so far, nor would I expect to at this stage. No other Gen 5 Subarus around here show rust and we deal with a lot of salt. Older Subarus show rust at the rear wheel arch.

3- Can i put my Apple Maps on the screen inside instead of the navigation inside?

NOPE

3.1 If not, can we update easily the maps inside the car?

This generation of the Head unit uses a small removable card which you put into a reader attached to your computer. Once a year in the USA Subaru releases a map upgrade. You get 3 yrs free then pay. I have not done that yet. But don't get too excited, the system is not fantastic though you do get turns displayed between the speedo and tach which I like. Google maps or WAZE works better when you get a cell signal.

4- Can I put music by the bluetooth device?

Yes

5- Is the bluetooth is better than my old 2011 wich was F*** Crap

Seems to work OK in my experience.

THanks for making my choice much easier [/QUOTE]

You're welcome,
Jon

I have a 2016 that I bought new, I did replace thebattery and I am starting to have a problem with the key intermittently gettingstuck or locked in the ignition other than that no other issues. I did buyanother Outback without hesitation.

I've started having this problem as well. I jiggle the shifter a little and can then remove the key. Is this what you do?
