click, click, click. Really getting to me.

The reverse lockout solenoid is getting to me. Every time almost to a stop the shifter lever 'clicks'. Anyone figured out a way to quiet/silence it? dealer says 'normal' of course..

/just started about a week ago at 11k miles.

Mine seemed to start doing this after changing the battery out, both in a 2014 I previously owned, and now my 2016. Prior to that I never noticed it.

Any time the dealer says something is "normal", ask them to demonstrate it in several other similar cars that are on the lot.

I was wondering what that was... I figured it was something like a lockout for reverse. My car does it too. I just chalked it up to Subaru's are garbage. hah

Doesn't work, I did that and then they said, "okay, come get your car. We tightened everything to specs and it's fixed now." Guess what, it wasn't fixed. Dealers don't have a clue, it's legal theft. I will NEVER take my vehicle to a dealer unless it's warranty work.

I don't care if it works or not. I just want to make sure they know that their line of crap doesn't work with me.

Kind of like when they charge me for 6 individual quart bottles of oil at an oil change and they put 5.1 quarts in the car. I asked where they put that bottle with the .9 quarts left in it.
