Looks like black wheels, perhaps the Outback will have a "Sport" trim level like they did with last year's Forester.

in recent years I wonder if subaru actually watches / cares how many people dump their factory dork rims, and craptastic tires.

at least blacked out rims don't look like Tron from 1982... (black hides the gaudy)

That Facebook photo looks like a possible digital gauge pack or just a really large speedo

I see a lot of Outbacks out there and it’s a really small percentage that buy aftermarket rims.

back in the old days of 2000-2004, it took years to find cast off rims for snow tires.
(so like waiting for wrecks or them being scratched badly already)

but I try to keep to the inside of the car and not look at the outside,

but if you look at the classifed here for the past 2 years there are always new cast offs sold. and in years before that was rare.

(maybe with the growth of the company more people that always cast off rims are buying subarus for the first time, ....but them some ugly things on gen5 too).

I agree. I see very few Subaru's with after market wheels.

My guess is the picture is showing the top trim Touring model. The less expensive trim levels will have more conservatively styled wheels.

Nope, That would be the sport model. I believe it will come in a 2.5. Limited and touring get the turbo

Exterior will likely all be the same with the exceptions of chrome clading on certain items. Look at the forester and new legacy and it will likely be the same items changing through the models, limited, touring, sport (hopefully hybrid)

It would not be surprising that 90% of the current Outback owners are only there because they think it is a cultural statement to own a Subaru. To them, decorating a car is adding one of those silly Euro Style dual letter ID's to the back of the car.

A portion of that remaining 10% do things like aftermarket lift kits, bars, foglights, baskets or tires other than factory-issued. Also in that 10% is the group of people who will hang out in a model specific car forum and can debate the advantages of the boxer engine, the horrors of direct injection or how the 2009 model was better than the 2012.

We would like to think that a car maker listens to us but we are just a glitch in their sales forecast. The Subaru love commercials have a much greater impact than we ever will.
