We used to use lead seals as cigar lighters. We would wrap the seal cable around your pen about 6 coils or so. Then put one lead on the positive & one on the negative of a 6 volt lantern battery & voila a nice glowing hot coil of wire to light your smoke. Oh yeah I forgot to mention it but this is what I did with my motorcycle. I just plug it in, on the off season & my 2014 VStrom battery is still working just fine. That's five years when prior to using the Battery Tender I never got more than a year or two out of a bike battery. I swear by the Battery Tenders.
