I caught a very good deal on this car. The previous owners are military and due to the wonderful storm we had they got redeployed. It started acting up a few months ago and parked it with intent to get it looked at but the storm changed things. They posted it up for sale but when I went to assess it it wouldn't crank. I offered them $400 and they accepted it. One new battery later she was on the road. It throws the p0768 code periodically but other than that it rides out smoothly.

My plans for it are relatively simple... stereo boom and upgraded exhaust (suggestions welcome).

Even at 233k miles, this might qualify for the all-time best deal on a 2005 3.0R - congratulations.

Well, since you stated that suggestions are welcome - skip both of these modifications and spend the cash instead on a thorough cleaning of that white interior. Both you and your neighbors will appreciate the outcome!

Mild understatement... I hope the P.O.s don't visit this forum, that's one bad case of regret. I guess in Florida folks are less likely to hoard Subarus "just in case"
I think that's the best color combination, too (black, light interior) -- congratulations!

I sometimes feel I need to apologize for being far more verbose than is necessary in a lot of situations, especially on the internet - I've probably already done it plenty on this foru-
shucks, I'm doing it again, aren't I?

Good news there is... I'm an auto detail alum so I have vast experience deep cleaning interiors. It's really not that bad... a little carpet cleaning and a light leather scrubbing will do the trick. Just have to find the time. My day job is hauling construction dumpsters and if you pay attention to the news you'll know those are in high demand around my neck of the woods. At the moment I'm just thoroughly enjoying driving it.
