Black out chrome window trim

I have never seen chrome trim that I like - I see chrome . . . out comes the Plastidip. I get it the stealth look is not for everyone . . . such as my "don't touch my car" wife who has made it clear that blacking out a car "makes it look ugly."

So that said here is a pic of my 2018 OB with the side chrome trim around the windows blacked out

that looks great! i've been considering doing this on my Black '19 ltd.

did you dip a section/window at a time, or all of it in one pass?

de-chroming is a good choice. Too much chrome on new stuff these days.

Really think this is my next project. I’ve already gotten a few quotes from some places that do vinyl wraps just in case I get lazy and want to go that route instead.

That really looks good!

How well does the Plasti-Dip hold up?

Am I correct in assuming you masked/sprayed it?

Pretty wide range actually. From as low as $450 to upwards of $800. Makes me wonder if the $450 job would be worth it or falling off in a few months.

That does look pretty good - and it also is pretty pricey!

You know that you can buy an Outback that is already pre-equipped with the ultimate blacked out window trim, right?

I'm not the OP, but did mine more than a year ago with no issues to date. Mask and spray is what I did.
I would add that I did each side in one big shot. I ended up having issues on one side with it sticking to the tape when I removed it and had to redo one section. I would at least break each side into two sections if I were to do it again.
