front suspension clunk

Hi guys I've got a front suspension clunk that sounds like a upper strut mount or swaybar end links, the swaybar end links front and rear are new subaru parts , I was posting to see if there are any parts or bushings ,ball joints etc that commonly go bad on the front suspension , the car is a 2008 outback with 113,000 miles, it seems to make the noise going over patched up road surfaces the most.

have you inspected under the car?

sway bar mounts, rear bushings on the front lower control arm...11 year old car could have just about any steering or suspension part worn-out.

I did look a few weeks back and did not see anything suspect, everything looks ok,swaybar mounts are good energy suspension mounts, thats why i was posting to see if they are known for control arm bushings for an example, i just hate to throw parts at things , the lower control arms are $215 each and strut mounts 80 each ,for subaru parts .

I would put it on jack stands then use a jack under the tire/hub to lift ever so slightly and observe to see if you can see anything moving in the suspension that doesn't look right. Check the lower ball joint since the retaining bolt is a weak point where the threads can strip and the joint can move. My gut says strut mounts.

While you have the wheels off the ground, give them a wiggle test (side to side & up and down) to see if you could have a bearing assembly going bad.

You have new endlinks, have you checked that they're securely tightened?

Yes i re checked the torque on them twice and they are subaru end links, it sounds like end links or upper strut mounts, i have to dig into it i guess.
