2015 Outback limited headlight upgrade help

Hey everyone,

Just bought my first Subaru Outback (2015 2.5i Limited) and after a lot of night driving in Northern Michigan over the weekend I really want to upgrade my headlights. I've searched the forums and read a million different things but just want the real low down.... I was thinking of using the factory HID lights off of the newer model Outbacks and then running LED in the fog lights and DRL/Highbeams. Is this a good way to go? I love the light output from the HID lights and I thought that purchasing a used setup off of an Outback would be the best way to go and as close to OEM as I can get. Thanks for any help and suggestions!

I replaced the OEM bulbs with Philips CrystalVision Plus bulbs; they're whiter and brighter than OEM. The Philips bulbs made a huge difference in visibility and are much less expensive than going to HID. I'd recommend trying them before doing anything elaborate.

Thanks a bunch, I will definitely look into these! I also looked at the Osram Nightbreaker Laser bulbs. Going the HID route would be awesome but probably really expensive.

Sorry, I’m brand new to this “forum” thing and wasn’t able to find the information I was looking for after a quick search so I posted this.
