skinny2 I'm going to go with 6.6 because I think they'll massage things a bit more for fuel economy on the OB vs the Legacy.

JacquesPere If the 2020 OB can do 0-60 in low 6sec., I'll put up with the start/Stop.

Subaru has been quoted to estimate the Legacy XT to be 6.1s. A quick search of real-world tests from Car & Driver will show that the Legacy 3.6R and Outback 3.6R achieves exactly the same 0 to 60 times. This makes me believe that we are looking at 6.1s for the Outback XT as well.

Now the real question is how conservative Subaru's estimate is, and is it possible to achieve sub 6-second times? To me, 5.9s would be plenty of zip for a vehicle of this class. For comparison, BMW X3 does 6.4s, Audi Q5 does 5.9s, BMW X3 M40 does 4.8s. No other Japanese CUV/SUV can do sub 6-second times (even with 310 ft-lb, the CX-5 can only do 6.4s)

Rub Fast enough for the wife to say, "Slow down!"

Flat6Brick It will probably be as fast to 60 as the '15-'19s with the 3.6R. So 7 seconds flat I'm guessing.

This is the right answer. A bit surprising they would release the 0-60 number for the LXT but no the OBXT

NathanArizona It depends on where they put the fake shift points....

OutbackDon Frankly I have no idea of the new Turbo Outback's 0-60 time. But, I imagine the time is somewhere in between that of my wife's Toyota Prius and my Corvette ZR1. Regardless of the knowing the time, I am sure the new Outback will meet my performance needs when I replace my beloved but aging 2013 Outback 3.6.
