  1. GPS on 2020 outback gets me lost

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
Um ... you do know what I do for a living, right? Don't get me wrong, I get paid on commission, but a lot of times on new cars, I'm more than happy to make my mini.
  2. Heated steering wheel all the way around?

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
Oh, I saw that happen to a maintenance guy in the stamping shop, when he had a high pressure line blow. Peeled him like a banana all the way up to his elbow.
  3. Heated steering wheel all the way around?

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
Actually (you'll appreciate this) you're EXACTLY correct. You should NEVER hold your steering wheel with your hand at the 12 o'clock position. But why, you may ask? (Or not, but I'm going to tell you, anyway) Simple. You're cruising along, one hand on the wheel at the very top, the other...

It's the same Crimson Red that's on the Ascent. Or the OU flag ... :)

That's why it doesn't recognize you ... too many ears. đŸ˜‰ Seriously, I had to grab my redelivery specialist for something the other day, and you'd think I would know everything. The other thing they have going for them is they have their own internal group to ask each other. So if he...

Um - your salesman was an idiot? Limited XT LDJ 32 CRD - Crimson Red Turbo Engine, Option 32, includes Navigation. It'll have black interior, because that's what they went with for red instead of the ivory, but that car is available. You probably would have had to order it - there's only one...
  7. What is this arrow in the display?

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
Someone finally asked me - so I checked and replied to them in a conversation. Tell your service department to do a software upgrade on the car - it's got the wrong one installed. You have a No-Nav vehicle that has the Nav software installed. Software upgrade will make it go away. That's...
  8. Driving without the fob

    Gen 5: 2015-2019
Or worse, stealing a car because it looked the same. That happened to my Mom. GM was notorious for only having half a dozen or so actual cut keys. She and my Dad used to go to a tavern that was owned by a friend of theirs, all of their friends did the same. She'd met some of her friends...
  9. Premium fuel in XT?

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
Should I really make you jealous? $1.89 at Costco and Sams on the north side of town, $1.98 on my side of town - E10 87 Octane About 30 cents more for 100% gas, almost anywhere in town - and you can find 100% gas almost anywhere in town.
  10. Premium fuel in XT?

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
Because they can? I really don't know. As I said, smaller engines, like lawn mowers, chain saws, and everything else that's older can still use it. It's also cheaper to make. I suspect it'll be like a lot of things that are for sale well beyond when they need to be or should be.
  11. Premium fuel in XT?

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
At higher altitudes, you still need to put at least 87 octane into your modern (no carburetor) Subaru, and effectively the same with ANY car that uses fuel injection. The thinner air at altitude compensates for the lower octane rating on older vehicles. So your lawnmower or snow blower are...
  12. CVT service FYI

    Gen 5: 2015-2019
You're correct - the problem is, realistically, how many people will take the time to do that? Most people simply have a couple of quarts of oil, a jug of washer fluid, and a jug of anti-freeze stuck somewhere towards the front of one side of their 'climate' controlled garage. (Whatever the...
  13. Rear Window Washer

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
If you had been using it, then yes, it'll drain out. If you've NOT been using it, then no, it shouldn't be dripping. Never heard that one before.
  14. CVT service FYI

    Gen 5: 2015-2019
Brake fluid is hygroscopic - it absorbs moisture from the air. That's why you can have a sealed can of brake fluid sit on the shelf for years, but if you open it, and you don't use all of it, after a year if you don't use more of it, you pitch it.
  15. Audio feedback for Blind-spot monitoring

    Gen 5: 2015-2019
This discussion has come up in the past. The answer is no, you can't turn it on, and they designed it that way on purpose. In a large volume traffic town (such as Dallas), the darned thing would be beeping ALL the time. And then you'd have people complain that it was beeping, and how can you...
