I just got the car 2 1/2 weeks ago. I'm putting off buying tires, wheels, and TPMS until the fall. I intend to run the Nokian studless friction tire, not a studded tire so the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV. I used the studded Nokian on my body-on-frame SUVs since 1998 and the Hakkapeliitta Q and Hakkapeliitta R on my VW GTIs since 2001 with a brief experiment with Blizzak where the tires lost their grip at 12,000 miles. The R2 is the most recent version of the Nokian studless tire. has the 17" tires for $163 with no tax and free shipping. I'm probably going to do 17" OEM Subaru alloys. By the time I add in TPMS at about $50 each and mounting/balancing/TPMS programming at the tire shop, I'm looking at $1,700. I hate having to do this with every new car but stock tires are lousy on black ice
