  2. Front Sway Bar Endlinks replaced

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
My Moog boots ripped in under a year on me. I am swapping for non-greasable regular old endlinks this week! I can't wait.
  3. Key reprogramming

    Gen 5: 2015-2019
I have a leftover key from my 2015 Outback that has never been used. Does anyone know if it can be reprogrammed? I ask because it would be cool to sell it for a few bucks.

  6. New owner of an 08 LLbean (Few questions from inspections)

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
The bushings are notorious for failing. Here is what I did a couple weeks after buying and driving my car noticing it skipping sideways when hitting bumps in the road. I also identified the bushings being completely worn out... for $2,200 I did all new: KYB struts (2004 in the rear), rallitek...

  8. Rear strut mount problems

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
I just got to this today. IT WAS THE NUT!!! Just as you suggested @kingpinXT2005. I had to take the rear hatch panels off, but once I was able to get to it I was able to tighten it about 8 turns. I couldn't believe it loosened up like that. All fixed now, rattle is gone. Thank you very...
  9. Rear strut mount problems

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
It's like a rattle type of sound. Hard to describe. I'll post a video when I can. I'm not changing it until spring. I don't work on cars when it's cold and snowy unless absolutely necessary.
  10. Rear strut mount problems

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
Just a few months ago I replaced my rear struts with 2004 KYBs and Rallitek springs. I also replaced the rear strut mounts with new KYB mounts. After 2 weeks the driver side mount got noisy and I swapped it out for a new one. Now, 4 months later the passenger side mount is noisy. I don't...
  11. 09 legacy limited to 06 outback limited

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
Depending on the suspension work you want to do you may want to consider a '05-'09 legacy wagon.
  12. 4 Snow Tires 2010 Outback Limited

The seller and I worked it out. I must say the seller really came through good on this mix up.
  13. 4 Snow Tires 2010 Outback Limited

    Classifieds
I received these tires today and 2 of the tires have severely worn inner tread. The treadwear is no where near even. This is BS. Hopefully the seller will make this right
  14. Cold start concerns

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
I am currently driving a 2009 Outback 2.5i Automatic. The car seems to overcrank and grind just a little during cold startups. I've tried going shorter on the key-start-stroke in the ignition...but I am not turning it so much to overcrank it anyways. What do you guys think? It only happens on...
  15. whats inside that cubby hole ???

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
Anyone good with a 3D printer can make the mount to fit inside there. The thin factory rubber piece on bottom can be taken out by simply pulling on it, and then it just needs to be duplicated on a 3D printer...more or less
  16. So this doesn't look super great, advice?

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
I drove for years with leaks like these without a problem. Just monitor it

  18. 08 OB 3.0R - Lane Wandering

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
They used the wrong car! Look at the top! It say 2010-2011 Outback. Your car now is actually out of spec for the 2007-2009 specs! Go back with a full tank of gas and some weight in the cargo area and tell them to do it over! You want negative toe in the rear and 0.0 in the front. Now...
  19. 08 OB 3.0R - Lane Wandering

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
...and 0.0 toe all around is not actually good for the gen 3 outback. You want some negative toe in the back. Here is my alignment that I am in love with. You'll see the negative toe is in the middle of the "best" range. This is with ~160lbs in the back and full gas, which is widely...
