  3. Climate Control - Subaru Outback 05

    General Discussions
Hmmm...When you turn the Auto Climate control on, it sets the temp control to the optimum settings. For example, if you set it to 65 degrees F, (the lowest AC setting) it should automatically set to inside air-that's max AC.
  4. Baja Cemetery

Re: Longer cargo bed The 7 passenger is coming out in 06-production lines are already up, and they've shipped in the molds. I know some people that have seen the body. As far as I know, the baja is to be continued through 07 at least.

  6. Breakin' in my new Outback 2005 XT Ltd.

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
Be sure to allow the engine to cool for one minute before turning off the car. The intercooler/turbocharger needs a chance to cool down. Doing this will greatly enhance the life of your car.
  7. How far on one tank of gas?

    General Discussions
When the light comes on, you have about 2.3 gallons left. So, your average sub is going to be able to go, highway-wise, about 65 miles and change before it goes kaput.
  8. Twin Turbo

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
The 2006MY, probably in the OOX. The new full size sedan for sure.
  9. Twin Turbo

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
It's likely the H6 turbo will be a twin as well.
  10. Big Time Bummer

    Problems & Maintenance
Eeep! That's stuff that is supposed to be caught when it gets to the test driving at the factory. They must have been testing that one near shift change.

  12. Saab 9-2X

    Car Lounge
I read an blurb in Newsweek about the Saabaru. The author was just raving about how good it was, with it's swedish design and all that crap. And you can, of course, buy the 9-2X Aero (WRX Wagon) for only aroud $32000. Or, you could buy a WRX STI for $34000, and be smart with your money. The...
  13. Does Subaru Read This -- Idea for a new car

    General Discussions
Hmmm...maybe in the future. But it's far more likely thatSubau will go hybrid before diesel. In the near future, the entire line is going to Variable Valve timing in all the engines. It will bring up the fuel economy, and increase the horsepower in the 2.5L to 180 into the 06MY. I've heard...

    What...I can't say *****in' ? Oh well.
  15. soon to be an OB owner, need help deciding

    General Discussions
My personal favorite is the XT limited. The Bean is nice, and the 3.0 has nice highway speed, but the XT scoots. Add in the sunroof and the leather, and you have a *****in' ride. I've driven both a lot. I'd definitly recommend the XT.
  16. I am an idiot

    Problems & Maintenance
Surprisingly, yes. It's more a matter of Joe High School Dropout, Chief Jiffy Lube Tech, thinking that because he knows how to change the oil on the *****in' 87 Camero, that he's some kind of mechanical wiz, than it is difficult to understand that purple is NOT the color of oil.
  17. I am an idiot

    Problems & Maintenance
If I'm correct, damage done to the tranny like that isn't covered under warrenty. We had another Jiffy Lube Incident this past week, where they drained the tran. fluid, and gave the guy a few extra quarts of oil. Now Jiffy Lube owes the guy parts and labor for a 5G transmission. Be careful.
  18. Dropping in a H6 in place of EJ25

    Gen 1: 1995-1999
Holy crap...that's creepy...reminds me of my aspirations in my teen years to stick a v12 into my dodge omni, and drive from the trunk.
  19. 2005 3.0 VDC sticker vs. real world $$$

    Gen 3: 2005-2009
Hmmm...I'm not sure how they can cut prices that low. The VDC on our lot, without any of the options that are added at the place they go after assembly, is $33,395. Retail markup in the 05's has gone down from 04 as well. The prices they are quoting for the 05's could be possible with the 04...
  20. 2005 Outbacks in Garnet Red: Where are they?

    General Discussions
I like it, thanks. I'd say buy now. The fed is increasing rates, and new car rates have been decent on the 05's. Most folks with good credit have been getting around 3.9%. Try to lock in a low rate as soon as possible.
