  1. How to Guide: Disable Subaru Seatbelt Alarm/Chime

    Do-It-Yourself Illustrated Guides
Great find! I did it on 2019OB3.6R. It took me few tries but worked eventually. One observation: you try to activate ACC while set belt not buckled, it will not; or unbuckle seat belt while ACC is on and it will turn itself off. So: NO SEATBELT = NO ACC.

Aren't you experiencing "Lane Keep Assist"? Then just turn it off. Button on steering wheel. Lane departure warning will still be on.

Man, that has nothing to do with ACC: it is 'state of mind', to paraphrase known song! Don't blame technology for human stupidity!

OK, here is example from our lives: do you consider ABS a safe system? Have you realised that it works by letting break fluid to drain from cylinder while it is under pressure? So what if that electromagnetic valve gets stuck open for all the sudden? One wheel just lost break! It is snowing...

I do not see how driver would maintain 4 bar ACC distance in Stop'n'Go traffic and 2 bar at elevated speeds. This seems to defy logic.

4 bars in Stop'n'Go?! Here, on Boston roads, people are cutting me off with 2 bars in rush hour!

If I remember correctly pre-collision breaking is is not active below certain low speed...I could be wrong, though.

Consider this: I have worked on one of the first implementations of ACC and BSD at the end of 1990's. At that time there were three different technology ACC was based on: -Optical, similar to EYEsight -Ultrasound I am not sure if it is still in use -RadioFrequency, similar to TCAS (Tactical...

Well, as saying goes: "different strokes for different folks(road conditions?)." One should not ride brake; one do not drive with open windows in snow storm; why would you have LKA on if/when it is uncomfortable for you? Personally, I think LKA concept has a larger shoes to fill, as well as ACC...
  13. How could they not see this as a problem / irritant?

Just a reflection of something in the window. At night in some cars you can see dashboard or console lights a lot of folks have suggested many viable things, I can suggest to change vintage point, lower window, put a masking tape on window in the area of concern, blindfold comes to mind... very...

I guess I am ignoramus too: the tug from LKA in my OB19 3.6 is very subtle, but noticeable, but not like what Skinny2 describes. I did not like it at all when driving next to jersey barrier on NYC expressways. I got sense it is going to drive me in to wall. So I turned it off. (Remember "Doc, it...

I think it was Ford's brass decided to exercise executive power to improve ride quality of Ford Explorer. In executive mind it was simple: reduce specified tire pressure. what can go wrong! IMHO companies that make those sensors are clear winners from this act
