  1. 2016 outback cannot list siriusxm stations

    Gen 5: 2015-2019
This forum limits PDF attachments to 1MB but I was able to find the latest revision of 15-205-16R dated January 30th 2019 and attach the first two pages outlining the fixes as well as the software versions here. I tried having the dealer flash it but they seemed completely incompetent. First...
  2. FSM sites keep disappearing

    General Discussions
I can't believe this site still works! I just subscribed today, $35 for 3 days. Gives you all TSB's which as of October 2018 have been hard to find online. Also gives software updates to the Head Units and best of all Factory Service Manuals!!

Has anyone found a link to the updated TSB? Did the dealers charge to flash this?
  4. 2009 Impreza bleeder screw thread size?

    Wheels, Tires, Brakes, & Suspension
Went to a parts store and sized it up myself. In case someone stumbled into this down the road the thread size was M10 x 1.0. If you want speed bleeders the Russell part number is 639560 https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/russell-speed-bleeder-thread-size-10-mm-x-10-639560/22340943-P
  5. 2009 Impreza bleeder screw thread size?

    Wheels, Tires, Brakes, & Suspension
Tried using search but came up surprisingly dry. Does anyone know the front caliper bleeder screw thread size for a base 2009 Impreza?
  6. Another Subframe bolt snap thread

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
Your old threads with junkyard pictures where you were debating doing the same job actually helped me with mine. I wouldn't want to do it again but it would probably go much faster the second time around if I had to knowing what I know now. Where did you get those stud extractor sockets? I can't...
  7. Replace Rear Subframe in a 00 - 04?

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
Welp we got the job done. After taking the old frame out there was not much metal left holding in the driver's side lower front arm. I could bend it with one hand and probably snap it off. Good we did this job when we did. We did end up snapping one of the front bolts while the other three came...
  8. Another Subframe bolt snap thread

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
So we got it out. Welded a nut on, got it to turn around completely maybe once digging the bolt out a little more and then SNAP, the bold broke in half right at the nut again. We welded a second time, and then a third time and each was the same. At first we thought it was our weld breaking but...
  9. Polyurethane bushing for the rear lower arm?

    Wheels, Tires, Brakes, & Suspension
Thanks all, It's not that I am opposed to having a shop do it, it's that new arms with bushings can be bought on rockauto for $35. The cost of a new bushing alone + the shop fee is probably about the same. I was hoping for a $40 - $50 pack of polyurethane inserts for both arms but came up dry...
  10. Polyurethane bushing for the rear lower arm?

    Wheels, Tires, Brakes, & Suspension
Does anyone out there make a polyurethane bushing for the rear lower control arm (or lateral link as subaru's part site call it)? Preferably something that doesn't have a sleeve requiring a press to put in? Here is a pic of the arms I'm talking about with the old bushing pressed out. I...
  11. Rotted rear subframe, the recall, the rebuild

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
Shot in the dark but I am in the same boat as you. Any links to which diamond grinder bits you picked up? Thanks!
  12. Another Subframe bolt snap thread

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
Trust me I'm already on that. Have been doing that since Saturday night and will continue until I get to the car again this weekend after my work week. Looked online for diamond dremel bits and most look pretty small. Anyone in here use those?
  13. Another Subframe bolt snap thread

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
We have the old subframe off, the problem is the bolt snapped so it's the rest of the bolt that's hanging off the vehicle. I need to either remove the bolt or extract it. In addition to the above, I've seen some say to try twisting right after welding while the bolt is hot, and others say to...
  14. Another Subframe bolt snap thread

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
Was swapping the subframe on my 01 rust belt car. Previously I had drilled 2 small holes and soaked the tops of the front two bolts with 3 rounds of Kroil over the past 2 weeks. The two rears and one front bolt came out fine. But the last front bolt was about halfway out when SNAP. We had enough...
  15. Replace Rear Subframe in a 00 - 04?

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
I have a MAP torch, I just wasn't excited about using it near the gas tank. We'll see I guess. Thanks for the input.
  16. Replace Rear Subframe in a 00 - 04?

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
How did you get to the bolts? Others said they didn't think they were accessible from inside the car. Any idea on the thread size for the thread chaser? As others have mentioned, with the gas tank being right there I don't particularly want to use my torch so I am hoping the oil does it's job...
  17. Replace Rear Subframe in a 00 - 04?

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
Any thoughts to what I asked yesterday about greasing the rear bolts and what tool would be best to remove them?
  18. Replace Rear Subframe in a 00 - 04?

    Gen 2: 2000-2004
I ordered the part and had it in a day. Plan to install it in two weeks. I did a first round of soaking everything in Kroil yesterday. I drilled two small holes to get at the top of the front 2 bolts as recommended. For the rear two bolts though, I sprayed around but wasn't sure that I actually...

Any tips where guys drill so they can spray? Under the rear seats? In the trunk?
