  1. ECU Reprogramning Recall

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
I don't think NHSTA-style recall notices are going to be sent.
  2. ECU Reprogramning Recall

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
I'm not sure a notice is going out, because this isn't an NHSTA recall.
  3. Is a Subaru what I need?

    General Discussions
Have you test driven the Crosstrek with a stick? I drove a loaner 2019 crosstrek CVT and it seemed fine for daily driving and I would imagine the stick is better, but the CVT models do have torque converters so off-the-line you do have torque multiplication. The naturally aspirated Forester is...
  4. Required vs Optional Detailing

  5. XT Limited - Turbo unrefined and buzzy

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
I'd say my 2011 WRX wagon engine sounded healthier but it was probably the iconic subie unequal length exhaust note that I've grown to love. The Outback doesn't have that. Not complaining - just an observation.
  6. Hey everybody I love my Subaru :) new here

Hi! It's probably best to put your question in the title of a thread... but what's the question?
  7. Windshield cracked

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
There is a potential class action lawsuit alleging that Subaru windshields are defective. It will probably go nowhere, but just make sure you keep documentation in case this moves forward and you can get reimbursed or something...
  8. ECU Reprogramning Recall

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
Mine was built in August and it has the recall.
  9. ECU Reprogramning Recall

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
I thought it might apply only to the 2.4 engine but another person's onyx is clear. Hmmm..
  10. Quality Issues with 2020 Subaru Outback Limited XT

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
My quotes were fiction - just created them as examples!!!!!!!! Subaru never treated me that way.
  11. ECU Reprogramning Recall

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
Edit: Although this appears on the Recall section of Subaru's website, this ECU Reprogramming thing is not an NHSTA safety recall so I don't think recall notices are going to be mailed to anyone for this. August Build: I checked the recall website and manually entered my VIN. It applies to...
  12. Required vs Optional Detailing

In the old days we used to say it takes a long time for factory paint to fully cure and harden. I know that at one point, because of baking and UV curing and whatever else, that it was considered no longer applicable. Today's low VOC paints though - I wonder if they need more time to fully...
  13. Torque

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
I wonder if it's the improved suspension that changes the subjective feel.
  14. New 2020 Onyx XT: any advice for must-do's?

    Gen 5: 2015-2019
Congrats on the Onyx! If you haven't done so, there's a 3 years for $75.00 deal for the added security features in MySubaru/Starlink. I find it a lot more useful than I would have thought. For example, if you're in your office and you're wondering if you locked the car, you can lock it from...
  15. Quality Issues with 2020 Subaru Outback Limited XT

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
I have faith that Subaru will do the right thing. The few 2020 Outback owners in this forum that seem to have lemons are getting replacement vehicles and I see no reason why SOA would single you out to ignore the condition of your vehicle. It's a painful process. We're here to support you!
  16. Torque

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
The only reason I can think of would be that your 2020 Premium isn't fully broken in yet (less than 10k miles) therefore there's more engine friction, and the ECU is still "learning". Another slight possibility is that your car has different fuel (winter blend) than the 2019. Otherwise, I...
  17. What other cars did you consider and what made you choose the 2020 Outback over them?

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
It's poor visibility for the sake of styling that bothers me with Mazda.
  18. Quality Issues with 2020 Subaru Outback Limited XT

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
When I had to do documentation of an issue, I included date, odometer reading, who I spoke to, what I said, what they said - not verbatim, but although I didn't use bullet points, the sentences were similar. "11/20/18 ODO 01234 Spoke with Jim at Creek River Subaru at 10:29 AM to ask why I had...
  19. 2020 Outback Owners! Please report your Model and recent Gas Mileage! Thank you!

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
I think you're right. The strange thing is that the trip odometer miles aren't displayed adjacent to the MPG figure, just the total odometer.
  20. Quality Issues with 2020 Subaru Outback Limited XT

    Gen 6: 2020-Future
Sorry to keep responding to you, but I just thought of something. When you say it feels like a sauna, it would be good to document (via video) the temperature in the passenger compartment (compared to ambient outside) using one of those infrared non-contact thermometers, or even an ordinary air...
