    This seems to be covered before: but not clear what causes or fixes it. Son's 2004 Sub Outback shredded the inner belt last week. I put in a new belt but immediately noticed that the crank (center) pulley wheel is inset into the plastic of the timing cover, visibly taking up nearly first notch...
