Hi i am new to the forum. I have lurked for some time but havent been able to see any info on my situation so i thought i would join and ask my question and hopefully help others out with my growing subaru knowledge.
So I have a 2005 outback 2.5i with 4eat transmission. I was experiencing typical torque bind issues and went through the steps of replacing the transfer clutches in the tailshaft of the tranny. Torque bind solved. Great!
The problem that remains... The 2005+ 4eat transmission had the duty c solenoid moved from the tailshaft to the valve body. Here are the symptoms i am experiencing are these. the car drives perfectly and no issues until I park in a stall or pull into my driveway the car shifts into park and the pawl falls into place properly but the car feels like it is either building line pressure or releasing line pressure and the car kicks back and makes a thump noise from the transmission. Now if i am parking on street or not parking where i have had to turn the wheels tight and put the car into a bind i have no issues. When the FWD fuse is in place the symptoms are gone. This leads me to believe there is something wrong with the duty c. I cant seem to find much info on the 2005+ 4eat transmissions and issue like mine. Maybe someone can help. My guess is this could mean a possible replacement of the transmission valve body. Can specific pieces of the valve body be replaced (like duty c only)? I am up for suggestions. Also the car seems like the rear tires are locking up to much when on loose dirt and gravel. Inside tire skids like a locked up rear end in a 4wd.
