I always take it to the dealer when the issue is sensor or electronic related your local leo will simply replace stuff till the problem goes away. Your local dealer will find the issue and fix it and they will back up their work. I just had a Toyota dealer redo a $600 repair done over a year ago - they didn't do the repair correctly hence why I was back and they didn't blink and agreed that it shouldn't be an issue after such a short distance traveled. They did the repair again their cost. Local Leo would not have done that.Hi all. I have not been on here in too long a time. But here I am with more porblem.
Back in OCT I posted this thread http://http://www.subaruoutback.org...ubaru-models/39173-impreza-broken-boohoo.html
Well, at the beginning of this month, the Impreza started up those same symptoms. (shake, sputter, backfire and stall repeatedly). Car acts like it is not getting enough fuel. But (as you will read below) the symptoms are totally random. Can go for days with no sign of trouble, and then starts up again.
Mechanic thought, at first, that the O2 sensor went bad and replaced it (under warrentee).
NOPE. Worked for a few days.......same symptoms returned.
Second thought was to change the Mass Air Flow sensor.
NOPE! Again, worked perfectly for a few days then......same symptoms.
Another week at the mechanic, and still no answers. Suggested it might be in the computer itself and suggested taking it to the dealer.
And that is where it will go on Monday morning.
Any thoughts?
Has anyone had their car's computer go bad? Am I going to have to rob a bank to pay for this?
So go to the dealer and remember all parts costs are negotiable 15-20% easily
