I have a 2006 outback and everything was fine till I filled up fuel and when I started my car it read just under a full tank but now after driving around 25kms or so it's still reading that i have a full tank.

Do I need to asses the sender unit? Or could the sender be gummed up and giving a false reading and if so is there a tank additive i can use to rectify this?

Thanks

You filled the tank and after 25 km it still reads full. I don't see the problem.

Did you mean 250 km maybe?

That's correct. Normally it goes down a bit but since I put new plugs in it (same day I filled up) the gauge still reads full. Kms to empty have changed. It's just weird. It sits right on the full line. If it's normal wow but if not I don't know......

With exception to my VDC when it runs E85 (70% Ethanol fuel) my cars will go 120-150km before the fuel needle comes off full after a fill up.

Changing the plugs improved the engine performance and it's now using less fuel.

That's my assumption.
