Hello, my Outback quit running yesterday as I was driving it down the road. It seems like a fuel related issue since it slightly sputters when turning over the key. I charged the battery and checked the fuel pressure (44psi at the throttle body). I also had a head gasket replacement, new timing belt, etc. replaced about 10K miles ago so I'm guessing the timing isn't as issue. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?

Try spraying some starting fluid into the air intake. You'll know immediately whether or not the ignition is the issue.

If it fires, suspect the fuel system.

I'd also pull the driver's side timing cover and make sure the belt isn't shredded or broken. New parts can still fail.

Have you checked for any CEL codes?
