so i have done two dump and fills on the transmission and on the second dump i dropped the pan to clean it

i thought there was no filter in the pan but to my surprise there is a plastic denso filter bolted to the valve body like many other transmissions ive done

so i call the dealer for replacement and he tells me not available as a seperate unit, only as a package with the valve body

weird as this is a paper like material not a metal screen

i make calls to other parts places and get a big no go

so iwashed it out and reinstall

how come no replacement on a filter?

what ta heck

i changed the spin on and poured in 6 quarts atf-hp fluid (6 quarts came out)

its time subaru release the filter only right?

seems stupid to not replace that filter

It is weird to me too, but that's the way a lot of transmissions (from many manufacturers) are these days. They either don't have a sump filter, or they have one, but they don't even offer a replacement part.
