Do anyone know if the 16" BRZ/GT86 wheel fits on my Outback? I want to fit some 215/65R16 Toyo Open Country ATs.

I've no first hand experience, but those 3mm offset difference should not be a problem at all.
btw, that looks like a Toyota wheel you posted based on the logo. And yeah, the BRZ and FRS are identical cousins.

that offset is no big deal. BRZ should fit a 2005 just fine.

The two common/big issues swapping subaru wheels are front brake caliper clearance and wheel bolt pattern.

BRZ bolt pattern is 5x100 so it'll fit 2009 and earlier outbacks.

Caliper clearance - the wheels need to clear the front calipers, if the new wheels have a smaller inside clearance they'll hit the calipers. I'm unfamiliar with BRZ wheels so I can't comment exactly on all the possibilities.

So it should be pretty clear when I test fit?

absoultely it'll either sit flush on the hub/studs or it won't. it'll be blatantly obvious, the wheel will hit the caliper and won't push on all the way.

i'd be surprised if BRZ didnt' fit but i just don't know all their options, wheels, sizes, etc enough to say anything more than an uneducated guess.

Thanks!! Your uneducated guess is more than enough to take the drive :)

I've realised I never got around to show the result. 16" GT86 wheels fits (almost) perfectly, and wrapped in 215/65R16 KO2's I've experienced no rubbing, not even with a lot of dried mud in the wheel well. Looks wise 1-2" spacer would probably make it better, but they are illegal here so, ohh well. :smile2:

P.S. I picked up the rims for $200AUD (~150USD), about $1000 less than importing some 15" method rims :)

They look mint. Was considering the same wheel as the Enkeis I want are over a grand, but wasn't sure they'd fit. Then I saw this thread that confirmed fitment so decided to Photoshop some on my 03 H6. Shame about the offset though.

Thanks for sharing and saving me a fortune ?

Those rims look great! Did you by chance weigh the bare rim, before mounting? Im trying to find the lightest OEM rim for my 1st gen OB. i want to try to offset the increased tire weight, with a lighter rim...inexpensively. Hence my search for the lightest OEM rim.

I love mine, especially after getting on a roof basket and a lift kit. You can also get some 49mm Enkei Hub Cap Stickers for like $20 on Ebay. The Toyota badges were driving me nuts and they are charging like $70 for OEM Subaru ones. It also looks pretty good with no center caps at all.

According to a FRZ/GT86 forum they weight 20.1lb or 9.1kg, which sounds about right. Hope it helps even thought its been a few weeks.

Would love to see a pic of your car with the basket and lift! ?

I ended up with SH Forester XT rims in the end as I came across a very cheap set and painted them black. Bit wider too.

Little help please. So I came across a set of performance package wheelset for 2020 Subaru BRZ. My OBXT has wheels sized as 7J x 17 offset 48. BRZ has specs as 7.5J x 17 offset 48. Same bolt pattern and since they are both Subbies same center bore. Question is though; is going half inch wider on the rim going to cause any problems? I get the offset is stated as 48 on both but being wider I assume it will shift 6mm in and 6mm rim out. Just wondering if that is an issue whatsoever as far as fitment or the suspension components go or anything like that. Any Gen 3 owners able to answer fitment questions? I assume it should be fine but just want to see how it work out going wider rim for others.

Thanks,
Marcinho.
