2000 EJ25 Short Block Replacement Options

Good day all,
I have a #1 Rod Knock in my 2000 OB Limited with an EJ25 SOHC motor with 230K on it. Just last year we redid the heads, gaskets, water pump, timing belt, axles, AC, driveshaft etc etc etc. I don't want to sell the car cheap or for parts, but want to fix it. I've been noticing that the EJ25's aren't necessarily easy to find and the $1200, although a good value, is a bit out of my price range.
The question, finally, is What short blocks can I use with these heads etc? I have a pick n pull junkyard very close to my work and can jump on a new wreck with a good motor in short order. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Nick

99 - 04 blocks will work.

as will 96 - 98. the bell housing bolt holes are fewer but it will work .

i'm not familiar with the 05+ engines, but it would not surprise me to learn that they will work as well.
