Okay so I have a 2000 Legacy GT 2.5, manual transmission with a seized engine. At my shop I have a 2002 Outback 2.5 with an automatic transmission. The Outback engine is verified good, tested, so I decided to do an engine swap. Everything looks almost identical other than the map sensor placement on the intake manifold I don't really see very many differences. Performed the Swap, and now I have a no start. It is getting spark, and fuel, I'm just wondering if there's some possible pick up on a sprocket maybe that isn't allowing it to fire at the correct time? I'll try to include pictures and if there is anybody else done the same or close to the same Swap, and there's something I need to replace or overlooked, I would appreciate any input. The donor engine from the 02 Outback was left as it was, dropped in without switching the intake manifold, or any sensors. The only modification that was done was to pull the flexplate off insert the flywheel and the clutch.

Wow it never even occurred to me that there would be a difference in the timing components, but it does seem to make sense. I feel like a rookie lol. Well, next time I shall do my homework properly. I was about to go into diagnostic mode. Scope everything. Glad I decided to ask the right people. Now I'm properly schooled in 251 and 252 hehe. Thanks again man.
