I've got dog-chewed rear setbelts in my 2000 Outback. The only salvage belts I can find in Canada are (a) from a 2000 Legacy wagon, and (b) are on the other side of the country.

The salvage yard says they *think* they're compatible, but aren't sure. Is there any way to know? I'd rather not pay to ship them both ways across the continent if they're not.

2000-2004 legacy outback = 2000-2004 legacy.

that said.

subaru may warranty / guarantee the seatbelt forever. as a free repair / free part.

maybe avoid discussion of the dog.

Bought it used, so I guess I don't *know* there was a dog involved, come to think of it. I'll drop in at the dealer and ask if the damage looks like it ought to be covered under warranty.

If that doesn't fly, well, two assertions of compatibility from high-status users are enough for me to risk the shipping. Thanks to you both!

Wagon's a wagon. The sedan is probably different, since the belts probably retract straight into the body and the center belt I doubt comes out of the ceiling.
