Hopefully resurrecting my H6 OB this side of Xmas..
Tyres.. I want to fit some all seasons as I have more than enough wheels and tyres around for other vehicles and really dont want to spend out on 2 sets of tyres.

My options are limited.
It seems we have a different std fitment this side of the pond with 215/60r16V installed.. (USA looks to have 225/60r16v)
Not much with a good wet rating in V rated is available in my stock size..
I have available a set of 17" impreza wrx rims that came via a 2.5 OB that passed through my hands.. I can get some 225/55r17 V rated tyres for sensible money and have good wet grip rating..

What do you think?? good compromise?

typically the US spec gen2 2000-2004 legacy outbacks came with H rated tires. in 225/60/16.

plain legacy had shorter and narrower.

I like the 225/60/16 size for its with and sidewall height to protect the rim from pot holes.

I think your options are even more limited than you think, because the 17" wheels you have have a bolt pattern of 5x114.3 while your 2002 OB has a bolt pattern of 5x100. Adapters will probably cost you around $100? Money better put toward new tires in my opinion.

I was just looking on tirerack.com, like the largest US on line tire retailer and they do list 225/55/17 as a alternative size for 2002 legacy outbacks if you wanted to run 17" rims.

so give them a try. :smile2:

VDC outbacks like these are great at NOT hydroplaning,.... vs. like all other cars on the same surface.

depends on the year, some are 5x100, others are 5x114.3.

and if they are WRX or STI. ...you can look them up, or find out real fast by trying to put them on.

They fit....
As I said, they came off of a 2.5 OB that passed through my hands (reinstalled the stock alloys).. 5x100...

Dont forget we have had the wrx/sti over this side of the pond for many years. in fact I could prob find 20 of them within 10 miles of me and I live in the sticks.....
