Just need a quick check for the driver side, 2005 Outback headlight replacement. Looks like the battery has to be removed, correct?

Is so, too bad. Just did my 03 Outback, much easier, 3 screws and remove the entire assembly. Thanks.

Make sure to seat the bulb properly in the little cut out slot or it will be super dim!!!!

Best advice you get right here^^^^^^^

2nd best advice comes from M..watson. Pop the washer out of the way.

BTW, this all assumes you are replacing the bulb, not the entire assembly!

The first time I replaced the driver side bulb I removed the battery. Then I realized I didnt have to. The replacement bulb only lasted two weeks. I changed it again without removing the battery and it took 1/4 the time. I have man-hands and it was no problem.
