Hey everyone got my 2005 outback 2.5 looking for suggestions to buy speakers 🔊 or sound system not sure what are the right terms. I make music so it we be nice to hear all the notes clearly. Easy to install and affordable. Any recommendations ??? And thank you 🙏
Ps maybe even a cheap sub woofer for under the seat 💺 or a flat cheaper style one the would sit almost flush on the back fold down bench seats, nothing too Loco 😜

I recommend doing online research at Crutchfield because they guarantee fitment so you don't run into issues.

The 2005 Outback's head unit does not have any weird signal processing which means it will pretty much let a speaker's characteristics be revealed - that's a GOOD thing.

Make sure that the speaker is efficient if you're just replacing stock speakers. Crutchfield has a speaker comparison tool that either lets you compare speakers with equal power or equal volume. Choose the equal power comparison so that a speaker that is too soft will reveal that weakness. Louder isn't always better, but you can discern both clarity and volume at the same time. At normal listening level if two speakers are identical but one is louder, the louder one will sound better.

Consider these: Hertz K 170 you will need to put the tweeters inside the door panel to replace the stock tweeter but it's much better to have the tweeter there instead of just in the bottom with a coaxial.

So are my tweeters becoase the car is stock not even there lol? I wonder yea the bottom ones bigger sound blown out
I had a 2005 Legacy GT and it had tweeters just in front of the door handles if I recall correctly, I might be wrong.

For reference, here are Polk separates in the front door of a 2007:

Rear doors:

After Dynamat:

Sub in cargo area:

I made my own brackets using the old speakers, but brackets are free if you buy from Crutchfield.

I also put an amp and a low-frequency transducer under the front seats:

Automotive exterior Bumper Auto part Gas Electric blue

If you can find one of those transducers they have an amazing affect. They bolt to the floor and provide sensory feedback that make you feel the bass. The illusion is that there is far more low-frequency sound pressure than is actually being produced. There are many upsides to this including the prevention of hearing loss and freaking out your friends (they wont perceive the "bass" until they sit down in the car).

Psycho-acoustics is a cool thing. With these transducers, you're ears think they're hearing what you're butt is feeling.
