My seats were starting to tear, so I used leather repair tape and then bought some universal seat covers from Costco. If you put some time into it, you can secure them pretty well and get it to look decent.

I'm considering another option. I noticed that some sellers sell just the leather cover from the seat, like this:
I'm curious if anybody tried stripping original leather/cloth from the seats and putting a replacement back in. That seems like very reasonable option although it would require some labor.
That way it may also be swappable between 2005 and 2006-2009 years?
