Finally ordered the JDM dual zone kit and hazard switch from AVOJDM.

The factory hazard switch can be adapted but I would rather save a bit of time for the install.

I already have the i88 harness so I need to get the regular wiring harness adapter and going to install an older Kenwood Excelon double-din unit with hands free for now but will do an upgrade to touchscreen double din DVD unit at some later date. I have a huge CD collection because I'm stuck in the 90's.

No updates on engine swap at this time. I'll be over by the shop for work and will check in later today.
Single biggest upgrade to my Outback was putting a modern radio in it. I went with a new Alpine about 3 inches thick with Apple CarPlay. I sold my CD collection about 10 years ago!

I think the Iwire guys have the radio harness. That orange wire not included with the American harnesses is absolutely needed for your new HVAC controls. It controls the illumination. Love this upgrade. Hands free mic I ran right next to the mirror and it turned out great.

I already purchased the special adapter for illumination. I remembered I also need to purchase an antenna adapter. Add that to the list of additional parts.

I’m not going to hurry the process. Once Sally is up and going the Subaguru is going to put some shakedown miles on ‘er then will get a full detail before I take possession.

Dropped by the shop yesterday and checked over the XT. The full exhaust is I place and the Cobb downpipe sure looks good.

Other than the Cobb heat shield there’s no real telling the turbo was upgraded.

The Killer B oil pan is quite disguised with the high temp paint.

I found the missing audio and i88 harness this afternoon... right where I put them. I’ll hopefully wire up the headunit this weekend.

Great progress! Love the painted bumper. Something I need to do. The new headlights from Subaru were night and day difference in Blue Smoke.
Looks like the stereo is coming along nicely. Shaving down that inside mount so the JDM hazard switch I did with a Dremel and it made a mess. Didn’t take long but that plastic went everywhere. Great progress.
Did you plumb your turbo return line to the Killer B drain pan ports?

I’ll take slow progress over no progress any day. I’m getting excited to see it all come together.

The turbo is plumbed using the factory lines. The Killer B pan is there for additional oil capacity more than anything. I think it now holds as much oil as the 3.6 in my wife’s Outback.

And it is alive! Hard to start but runs well once is going. Now we need the base map for the shakedown work.
