I ordered a set of Subaru head bolts.

Head Bolt Outer 11095AA123 X8 & Head Bolt Inner 11095AA141 x4

They look the same, short of taking a micrometer to them.

Do the inner bolts go in position e and f in the attached drawing?

I have seen different washers on the center bolts of earlier engines.
If I remember correctly, they all have the same washers that the center bolts used to have on them now.

the inners came individually packaged, the outer, came in an 8 pack

The inner washers are 2mm smaller OD.

Head bolts are not usually needing replaced. When I did my head gaskets, I watch a few YouTube videos by Subaru mechanics and they say you can tell if they are stretched by the feel when you torque them down. I had no problem reusing and that was 50k miles ago. Save some money, the other parts are expensive enough!
