Hello my fellow Subaru owners, i have recently got myself into some trouble with my front bumper the other day during an epic snow storm here in New york. I was wondering what my options were with possibly repairing the damage. I am aware that there are some ways to repair my problem. The first using a plastic welding tool and soldering the cracked surface back together, which seems like it will take alot of skill. And the other possibility would be to use some type of strong adhesive glue to connect these two sides together. and lastly replaceing the entire front bumper, i found a website that was advertising a replacement bumper for 200 dollars which seems too good to be true , im pretty sure the bumper is cheap plastic anyway( the one for 200 dollars NOT the one i have on it now)
I was wondering if there is anyone out there who can tell me about their own experience with this type of situation. What problems did you find the most troubling? If i should use a plastic soldering tool, which one will give me good results for a cheap price. Same goes any glue options i can do, a good friend of mine mentioned a marine epoxy called 610 west systems epoxy which might do the job. I am not looking for completely perfect finish i just want dont any loose pieces on the front bumper.
i posted some picture of the area i am talking about just to give you an idea.
